In Italy one day on Color Proofing
Organized by the technical association for graphic arts TAGA Italia together with the magazine Il Poligrafico, last April 20th took place the 3rd Proofing Day.
Twelve systems participated to this year’ edition. They have been installed in Verona at the S. Zeno Institute – the most important school for graphic arts in Italy – where in the morning they received the file with the test form to output and the printed version to be copied. In the afternoon the Commission of Taga evaluated every single proof and expressed the judgement for each system on the base of the visual and instrumental evalutation.
The 10 systems were as follows:

-Kodak Prinergy with Kodak Veris CX
-Kodak Prinergy with Kodak Matchprint Inkjet 400
-Efi Colourproof-XF with Epson Stylus Pro 4800
-Efi Colorproof-XF with HP DesignJet 90
-Heidelberg Prinect Metaproof with Epson Stylus Pro 4800
-GMG ColorProof 2UP with Epson Stylus Pro 4800
-GMG ColorProof 2UP with HP DesignJet 130
-Techno-In TechnoLab with Epson Stylus Pro 4800
and for the soft proof
- Techno-In Techno-Lab with monitor Quato
The results will be published in a special issue of Il Poligrafico totally dedicated to color proofing. |
